Conformal coatings were created to form a barrier over a finished assembly to protect it against extreme environments, exposure to moisture, salt, electrical leakage, temperature fluctuation, fungus, dust, and other environmental contaminants. We also offer metalized coatings for protection against EMI/RFI.
But...simply coating your sensitive assemblies is not enough. It is critical that the conformal coating be:
compatible with all components on a PCA (including PCB)
applied to a clean and properly prepared PCB surface
appropriate for the environment in which it is exposed, be reliable, durable, and extend the product life.
cost-effective, re-workable protection.
Plasma Ruggedized Solutions is your Conformal Coating source. We can do any quantity, from first articles to large production quantities. We visually inspect each and every assembly that arrives and, if necessary, clean the assemblies that do not meet our specification for surface cleanliness. We use custom plasma processes to clean the boards so that each coating is uniform. We then use our engineering expertise to select the proper material and develop a custom procedure to apply the coating. In this stage we may even make layout-level suggestions for our customer to consider. Once the coating is applied and has cured, we rigorously inspect each coated assembly.
